Magickal Goal Setting for Abundance

Are you a goal setter or a dreamer? How good are you at turning your dreams into a reality? Are you sure that what you are "dreaming" about is what you really want? By taking your dreams and turning them into goals, you can make your dreams a reality for yourself. If you don't believe this, then doing magick could be very difficult!

We do it in our spell work, visualizing things done, the task completed. Why not apply this principle to our lives? Does being spiritual mean being poor or doing without? It doesn't have to! It does not make you "more worthy." You deserve to enjoy the fullness of life, just the same as the next person. This certainly includes material items, as well as those that are not tangible but, important: health, happiness, love, and so forth.

We live in a world filled with abundance. Go outside and all that you can see is abundant. We live in a beautiful world filled with trees, grass, flowers, mountains, wonderful creatures. This is abundance! To create this abundance in your personal life is a goal that many of us have but, don't always know how to do it.

At a recent discussion group, one of our members, Dylan, shared with us a way to make that happen. It was so simple, yet so dynamic, that I thought I would share it with others. I believe that if the pagan community was not so impoverished we could accomplish great things! So on that note, this is our latest in personal projects!

THE GOAL BOOK

Supplies needed:
    one three ring binder, size and color are your choice
    filler paper for the notebook
    tab dividers with the following labels: short term goals (under 1 year),
        mid term goals (1 to 3 years), and long term goals (3 to 5 years)
    glue stick, ink pens, markers, magazine pictures, brochures, photos, etc.

Instructions: Do some brain storming on a notepad, write down anything that comes to your mind, there are no limits, only the ones you give yourself. Do not think in terms of what you can buy or afford, or what knowledge you have now, think in terms of possibilities. Possibilities are endless, think about where you want to go in your life, what you want to do. Do not limit yourself to present circumstances, be creative. Where would you like to live? What vehicle would you like to own, do you need a computer? Perhaps you want to travel or own a garage full of tools? Is being healthy and physically fit important? What about spiritual goals? What do you want to learn? Do you aspire to teach, to heal, to be a psychic reader or a counselor? Maybe you want to own your own business!

Now work on finding pictures and words to describe all of these things. Create an individual page for each of the goals. Write the goal clearly at the top of each page. Be very clear about what you want! No soft-sell here, be definitive and as precise as you can. The Universe cannot stand a vacuum, it will fulfill it. You want to be sure that you get what you want, being specific, gives the Universe a direction.

Example: Own home that is completely paid for and has 3 large bedrooms, 2 baths, a garage with a work bench, a swimming pool, and is located in the Paradise Valley area between Bell Rd. and Thunderbird, east of 32nd St. In other words get down to the nitty-gritty. Using the glue stick, put pictures on each of the pages, write words describing the details of your desires, or draw a picture.

This is not a wish book! You MUST BELIEVE that you have the right to have these things, that you are worthy! Just like in any other magickal working, you MUST VISUALIZE! You have to make this belief yours. These goals are yours. You do not need to share this book with anyone else, even your partner! Just like a diary or a book of shadows, this is private. If desired, a couple could make a goal book together for the goals that they both share and a private one for individual needs. Look at the book daily, in the morning and again in the evening. This will help with the unconscious mind becoming more attuned to your goals. As each of the goals becomes reality, put those pages to the back of the book or take them our and burn them. Make new goals each new year or on your birthday. Do not forget to consecrate your goal book, asking deity for assistance and to thank deity when a goal is reached.

Note: Many members decided to embellish the cover of their goal books with pictures or symbols of personal significance. One member drew a picture of a rainbow with her name at the end of it. I bought a green cloth covered notebook so that I could use my fabric paints on it and create my own design. Another member wrote on the front of her book: Welcome to My World and signed her magickal name.
